Laboratory Update: Canine Post Pill T4 Testing.  To achieve the greatest sensitivity in post pill thyroid measurement in canine patients, ANTECH Diagnostics recommends ordering our post pill T4 test. For optimum results these samples should be a 4-6 hour post medication submission. Note that an additional 1/2 ml of blood should be submitted if the post-pill testing is being done as part of a larger profile. Post Pill Thyroid Measurement test codes: T496 (Canada clients order CT496.) Please contact ANTECH Customer Service for further details.

Laboratory Update: New Code for Submitting Synovial/Joint Fluid for Aerobic Culture.  For optimum results, synovial/joint fluid aerobic cultures are best submitted in BacTec Peds Plus blood culture vials. The blood culture bottle must be inoculated prior to submission. This media and extended culturing time will promote growth and reduce false negative results. Synovial/joint fluid aerobic culture test codes: M220 (Canada clients order CM220.) Please contact ANTECH Customer Service for further details.

ANTECH is pleased to announce the immediate availability of the FastPanelŪ PCR Canine Tick Borne Profile with Lyme Serology.

ANTECH's FastPanelŪ PCR Canine Tick Borne Profile with Lyme Serology (Test Code: T961) detects 16 infectious agents associated with canine tick borne disease through a combination of real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) testing for 15 pathogens plus serological detection of antibodies to Borrelia burgdorferi.

Clinical indications for use of this profile include: history of thrombocytopenia, polyarthritis, fever of undetermined origin, known tick exposure, and chronic anemia of undetermined etiology. Please note that the FastPanel® PCR Canine Tick Borne Profile with Lyme Serology requires two samples: whole blood submitted in a lavender-top tube plus serum submitted in a red-top tube. ANTECH is pleased to announce the immediate availability of molecular diagnostic tests for common infectious causes of canine and feline diarrhea.

The FastPanel® PCR Canine GI Profile tests for nine infectious agents by real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR): Campylobacter coli, Campylobacter jejuni, Clostridium difficile toxins A/B, Clostridium perfringens enterotoxin, Cryptosporidium spp., Giardia spp., Salmonella spp., canine enteric coronavirus and canine parvovirus.

The FastPanel® PCR Feline GI Profile tests for Tritrichomonas foetus, Campylobacter coli, Campylobacter jejuni, Clostridium difficile toxins A/B, Clostridium perfringens enterotoxin, Cryptosporidum felis, Cryptosporidium spp., Giardia spp., Salmonella spp.and feline parvovirus, also known as feline panleukopenia virus.

FastPanel® PCR tests employ real-time PCR technology, a closed-tube system that virtually eliminates the risk of contamination in the lab, with test results available in just 1-3 days.

Two Exciting New Features announced on Zoasis.com - Auto Email and Autodownload!

Emailing your ANTECH results right to your hospital's email address! We can now email all of your hospital's ANTECH laboratory results to you, as soon as results become available. Your Zoasis account can be set up to automatically send an email to you, when ANTECH posts any new result files for your hospital. Autodownload your ANTECH results to your Local Computer! To help ease the daily burden of our clients whose software does not offer an automatic laboratory result download feature, we have now created one to help you download multiple results at once and help your staff to keep track of what has, and has not yet, been downloaded. (Please note: Not all veterinary software can import lab result data files. Your software must be able to import (aka "read") the downloaded results, for this program to be useful in your clinic.) Lab Order Module Updated with a New Test Request Form

New Antech Test Request Form available on Zoasis for Equine Veterinarians:
Did you know that you can generate a 2D barcoded test request form (TRF) on Zoasis that you can submit to Antech with your patient's lab sample? This barcoded TRF accompanying your patient's sample will be scanned by the sample-processing department at Antech. By automating sample logging, you can ensure that the correct hospital, client, and patient demographic information, as well as test orders, are logged for each sample that you submit. Additionally, because the data is controlled and "clean," you will be able to retrieve statistical information about the samples you submit, including patient trends over time, regional and state disease incidence, and other reports. * Wellness Screening Profile Tracking - Now you can quickly review your patients Wellness Screening tests and Urinalysis (ERD) results in one area to keep track of those with Abnormal Results. * Lab Supply Ordering - Lab supplies are active for hospitals using Antech's west coast hub. Now ALL Antech accounts can place orders for biopsy jars, test tubes, etc. from Zoasis and have the items delivered to your door! For more information, click here.

* User Name and Password retrieval - If you forget your User Name or Password, you can now have them automatically e-mailed to you. No need to contact customer support! Just click on "Forgot your Password" and enter your user name or the email address you initially provided when activating your account, and the login information will be instantly emailed to that address.

Dynamic Graphing - Our laboratory detail view now offers dynamic scales of individual test results. Now you can quickly see which abnormal results are extremely out of range, and which are borderline normal. These dynamic graphs are also available to print using the Actions...PDF print function.

* Enhanced Printing - You can now print reports in PDF format. The PDF formatted reports give you the ability to print in color (if you have a color printer), print only abnormals, and add your own comments to lab reports. For more information, click here.

* Lab Supply Ordering - Accounts using Antech's east coast hub can now order their lab supplies online. Place your order for biopsy jars, test tubes, etc. from Zoasis and have the items delivered to your door! This feature will be available very soon for accounts using Antech's west coast hub. * Long term "cookies" - You do not need to enter your Zoasis ID and ZIP every time you log in. The new long-term "cookie" will store your ID and ZIP for you, so that all you need to remember is your User Name and Password.
